Stories disproportionately covered by one side of the political spectrum

What is a Blindspot? A Southeast Asian news story that receives significant coverage from one political side, but little to no coverage from the other side. These stories reveal what might be missing from your news diet.

Finding blindspots in the news...

Why Classified Stories Matter

News sources tend to cover Southeast Asian stories that align with their audience's worldview. This creates "classified" areas where important news might be missing from your regular sources.

At DIGGED.NEWS, we track coverage across the political spectrum to identify these classified stories and bring them to your attention. This helps you:

  • Discover important stories you might otherwise miss
  • Understand what different political perspectives prioritize
  • Develop a more complete understanding of current events

Our Blindspot feature is updated daily with stories that show significant coverage disparity between left, center, and right-leaning sources.

How We Detect Classified Stories

We analyze thousands of Southeast Asian news stories daily and group them by topic. When a story receives significant coverage from one side of the political spectrum (left or right) but minimal coverage from the other, we flag it as classified. Our bias ratings come from independent media monitoring organizations and are regularly updated.
